Position Overview

As a Senior CBV specializing in Business Strategy, you will lead initiatives related to business valuation, estate and succession planning, and merger and acquisition consultation. Your expertise will play a crucial role in advising clients on strategic decisions to enhance their business value and ensure long-term success. You may also work with forensic accountants in preparing loss assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed business valuations for various purposes, including mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, and strategic planning
  • Provide expert consultation on estate and succession planning for business owners
  • Lead and advise on merger and acquisition transactions, from due diligence to deal structuring
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business goals and develop strategic plans
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in business strategy and valuation

Qualifications

  • Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation is required
  • 10+ years of experience in business valuation, estate and succession planning, and merger and acquisition consultation
  • Proven track record of successful business strategy implementations
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience in providing expert testimony as a CBV in legal proceedings
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Previous government grant application experience is viewed as an asset.
  • Prior startup experience is considered an asset.
  • Previous expert witness and forensic accounting experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with accounting for engineers, medical doctors, pharmacists, and lawyers is considered an asset.
